There's a lot to see and do on a vacation to South Africa. A lot of this depends on what you and your family are into and what time of the year your going to visit.

If you can not drive manual or prefer an automatic transmission your going to be renting a Mercedes, Audi, BMW or Jag.
For hotel accommodation there's a lot of choices. I usually stay with friends as the hotels are way over priced down there. There's some excellent Bed and Breakfast throughout the area. They are generally pretty good and provide a more personal service.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has billed taxpayers for 312 nights spent in her own home during her first 19 months in office, charging a "per diem" allowance intended to cover meals and incidental expenses while traveling on state business. ...The governor's daughters and husband charged the state $43,490 to travel, and many of the trips were between their house in Wasilla and Juneau, the capital city...on when Sarah decided to live mostly in Wasilla instead of Juneau? And, of course, the "thanks but no thanks to the bridge to nowhere" is such an audaciously phony claim
